How to use the ROI Calculator
The ROI calculator shows total and annualised return on an investment.
What you need to enter
- Amount invested ($)
- Final value ($)
- Years held
The formula
ROI = (final value − invested) ÷ invested. Annualised ROI = (final ÷ invested)^(1 ÷ years) − 1.
Worked example
Using the default values in the calculator:
- Amount invested ($): 10000
- Final value ($): 14500
- Years held: 3
| ROI | 45% |
| Net profit | $4,500.00 |
| Annualized ROI | 13.185% |
Tips for better results
- Use annualised ROI to compare different periods.
- Include fees and taxes in the final value.
Common mistakes to avoid
