How to use the Scientific Calculator
The scientific calculator adds trigonometry, logarithms, powers, roots and factorials to the basic keys.

The formula
sin, cos and tan work in degrees or radians (press DEG to switch). log is base 10 and ln is base e. x^y raises a number to a power.
Worked example
In degree mode, sin(30) = 0.5. 2^10 = 1,024. (3 + 4) × 5 = 35.
Tips for better results
- Check the DEG/RAD setting before using trig keys.
- Type a full expression, such as (3+4)*5, and press Enter.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using radians when the problem is in degrees.
- Forgetting brackets around a numerator or denominator.
