How to use the Density Calculator
The density calculator finds density, mass or volume when you know the other two.
What you need to enter
- Solve for
- Density (g/cm³)
- Mass (g)
- Volume (cm³)
The formula
Density = mass ÷ volume. Mass = density × volume. Volume = mass ÷ density.
Worked example
Using the default values in the calculator:
- Solve for: Density
- Density (g/cm³): 2.7
- Mass (g): 540
- Volume (cm³): 200
| Density | 2.7 g/cm³ |
| kg/m³ | 2,700 |
Tips for better results
- Keep units consistent.
- 1 g/cm³ = 1000 kg/m³.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Mixing units.
- Confusing mass and weight.
