How to use the Weight Calculator
The weight calculator shows the force of gravity on a mass on different worlds.
What you need to enter
- Mass (kg)
- Place
The formula
Weight (N) = mass (kg) × gravitational acceleration. Earth is 9.80665 m/s².
Worked example
Using the default values in the calculator:
- Mass (kg): 70
- Place: Earth
| Weight | 686.47 N |
| Equivalent on Earth | 70 kg-force |
| Pounds-force | 154.32 lbf |
Tips for better results
- Mass stays the same; weight changes.
- 1 kgf = 9.80665 N.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing mass and weight.
- Using the wrong gravity.
